Intermediate Jazz Band (B5) - Required Dual Enrollment in Jazz Band AND either Advanced Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, or a Percussion Class. This band serves as an intermediate jazz ensemble for teaching a variety of jazz styles and improvisation in a big band setting. The group participates in several concerts, festivals and performances throughout the year. The jazz band also serves as the pep band for basketball games during the winter season (approx. 6-8 region home games in January and February).
Full year enrollment required.
Advanced Jazz Band (B6) - Required Dual Enrollment in Jazz Band AND either Advanced Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band, or a Percussion Class. Enrollment is by audition only and is limited to the standard big band instrumentation of 5 saxophones, 4 trombones, 4 trumpets, and rhythm section. Jazz Band 2 serves as the premiere jazz ensemble for teaching a variety of jazz styles and improvisation in a big band setting. The group participates in several concerts, festivals and performances throughout the year. The jazz band also serves as the pep band for basketball games during the winter season (approx. 6-8 region home games in January and February).
